Bathtub Refinishing

Prepping usually takes around two hours but if the tub was previously finished more work will be required. We would use an industrial stripper that will expose the natural surface of the tub. Etching, this solution de-gloss the surface. It is a deep cleaning agent we use to remove residue and other contaminants. Etching is used on non-porous surface; this will provide a porous surface for proper adhesion. After that, mask work area to protect from overspray.

Step 1:

Bathtub is cleaned with micro clean technology to neutralize hard water ions, caulk and more. It will make the initial stage of the process simpler for us.

Step 2:

The cleaner destroys all acid and residue and brings the surface to a true ph. level allowing us to have an easier transition throughout the process.

Step 3:

We use three coats of ultra-grip low 4300 primer system. This is a low-odor, fast drying epoxy that has a high build with strong inner core adhesion over various surfaces. It is best used with a topcoat system and can be found is a variety of colors.

Step 4:

We apply two to three coats of glass tech load 2900 Shopko. it is a low odor, two component acrylic urethane that offers high quality wear and stain resistance with runs and sax resists during application.

After job is completed remove all masking carefully and caulk the edges upon completion. Bathtubs refinished with hawks’ products is now is a new condition. With care your and maintenance it can last for years.
